TKS received a visit from the Felt Mistress and Jonathan Edwards. They are well-known character creators. They provided students with ideas on how to create their own characters. The students were impressed with their presentation.
The Sakura Medal books were very popular again this year. Students were busy voting for their favorite book. Congratulations to all the award winners and especially the lucky I-pad winner. See the photos for who the lucky person was!
With over 20,000 RATKS reader responses submitted, this year's RATKS had its best year ever. Congratulations to all the students who submitted over 100 reader responses and all the award winners. The numbers were a huge milestone.
Science Fair proved to be a very successful event. All students were eager to solve the crime scenes and parents were treated to some excellent work.
Science Fair got off to a great start. Students were busy solving the crime scenes and many parents came to look at the great work their children did. There are still two more days of Science Fair to go, so please come on down and check out all the effort your children are putting in.
All parents and family are welcome to visit the TKS Science Fair in the elementary gymnasium from Tuesday, 10th of February to Friday, 13th of February, 2015. The gymnasium will be open from 8:50 to 5:00. The students have worked extremely hard to produce some quality work for everyone to enjoy. There is so much to see and do. We hope to see you there!
Students did a great job donating food items and books to help people who are not as fortunate as ourselves. Our goal was reached. The English teachers celebrated by putting on a performance for the students. Everyone had a great time.
From December 8 - December 11 students at the elementary school are asked to bring in food and used books for our Book and Food Drive. We are doing this to help supply food for those in need in Japan and to raise money to fund schools in developing countries. If students bring in over 3000 items, the English teachers will sing and dance for the students on December 12. This is for a great cause, so please help by donating food and books. Details can be seen in the letter sent home with students:
