Our history.
Founded in 2002 after one year of planning, Tokyo Korean School introduced its Modified English Immersion program in grades 1 and 2, with 2 classes in each grade. Beginning with a core staff of 5 English teachers and 128 students, the program quickly grew and by 2006 the immersion was extended to 2 classes in each grade, 1 through 6, with a total of 480 students and 14 English teachers.
In 2008, third classes were established in grades 1 and 2. In 2010, with numbers of teachers and students increasing year after year, the school was re-designed and a new elementary department was built. Since 2012 there have been 3 classes in each of the 6 grades and the school has retained a total of 720 students and 18 English teachers.
